Pine Straw Mulch Benefits

Longevity.

Pine straw does not blow or wash away, nor does it break down as fast as hardwood mulch. It is organic, sustainable and renewable.

Lightweight.

Easy to handle and lighter per cubic foot, bales are easy to carry and cover more area by equivalent weight than most other mulches. Per bale average weight is only 12lbs., making it an incredible product to handle at any age, in any landscape.

Sustainable.

No harvesting of trees to produce pine straw, and it is all natural.

Soil / Plant Health.

Breathes better, no compaction and allows for better water infiltration; adds organic material and nutrients to soil and helps against new weed growth by effectively blocking sunlight from reaching the soil underneath, while still allowing air and moisture to pass freely.

Erosion Control.

Does not float and wash away like hardwood mulch; use it where grass will not grow to hold soil; great for sloped areas, walkways, paths.

Pest Free / Simple.

Does not attract termites. Easy to apply, just grab handfuls and scatter/shake by hand. Greatly reduces the possibly of mold and fungus growth on siding and in the soil, unlike most hardwood mulches.
